Doing Good from a Distance – Jazz, Jokes, & Jesus will be live-streamed at 7:00 pm on three consecutive Wednesday Nights – July 22, 29, & August 5! You can join in the fun at our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/presbyterianchurchoftraversecity. The music will be different each night. The jokes will be unique. But the message is the same: We can do good together – even at a distance! Thank you, everyone, who has supported this fantastic outreach over the past 20 plus years! In response to COVID-19, The Presbyterian Church of Traverse City is changing things up a bit. Dixieland Devotions is now Doing Good from a Distance – Jazz, Jokes, & Jesus. The format will be similar, but live-streamed rather than a public performance. We have the music of the Backroom Gang on CD! Angela Wiliford will be on the piano! Pastor Myers will tell his jokes! We will have representatives from our partner agencies, sharing stories of the excellent work they are doing in our community. We’ll miss the band, the fellowship, and the cookies this year – but there is still good work to be done! Our partner agencies still need our support – perhaps now more than ever. We will be receiving contributions online https://tcpresby.org/donate/ or sent to The Presbyterian Church of Traverse City, 701 Westminster Rd, Traverse City, MI 49686.
For over 20 years, one hundred percent of the free-will offerings have been shared equally by four local missions. Agencies, such as Habitat for Humanity, the Women’s Resource Center, Peace Ranch, Love Inc, and Safe Harbor, are chosen by our Mission Committee each year and featured throughout the five-week run of Dixieland Devotions. This year our offerings will be shared by Food Rescue, Salvation Army, Love Thy Neighbor, and Good Will Street Outreach. To date, Dixieland Devotions has raised over $172,500!
