Mary Gruman LPC with Birchbark Counseling in Traverse City is also a Master Trainer with the Michigan ACEs Initiative. The Adverse Childhood Experiences Study provides a scientific framework for brain architecture and development. The presentation will foster understanding of how trauma in childhood can impact the lifespan and it will also give resources for mitigating adversities in our community’s children to reduce the incidence of ACEs and encourage a trauma informed community. This presentation applies to our whole community but it might be especially helpful to youth and child teachers, program leaders, mentors and reading coaches, along with the rest of us who hope to nurture the children in our world. Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome.
We’d also love to have you join us for our Wednesday Night Connections family buffet meal 5:30-6:15
