Habitat For Humanity Informational Meeting


Habitat for Humanity Grand Traverse Region has set Wednesday, Feb 8th, at 6:00 PM and Saturday, Feb. 11th at 11AM for distribution of applications for homes being built in Grand Traverse, Leelanau, and Kalkaska counties. There will be a 45 minute informational meeting explaining the qualifications for home ownership held in the Community Room at the Grand Traverse Mall located on South Airport Road in Traverse City. . 2nd Annual Sweet Shop at First Baptist Church


Just in time for Valentine's Day,  First Baptist Church, 244 Washington St., Traverse City, will host its 2nd Annual Sweet Shop sale on Saturday, Feb. 11th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Homemade candy and baked goods will be available, along with a variety of crafts and white elephant items.  For info, 946-4727.

Family Concert at Lake City Evangelical Presbyterian Church


The Lake City Evangelical Presbyterian Church, on M-55 east of M-66 in Lake City, will host a family appropriate Valentine's Concert on Saturday, Feb. 11th at 2pm.  The show will include classical, musical, oldies, gospel and just for fun numbers.  There is no admission charge and no offering taken.  For info, 839-2948.

Backporch Coffeehouse Concert


The next Back Porch Coffeehouse will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11th, 7:00 p.m. at the Charlevoix Senior Center Building. The featured performers are Cal Manis and the Groove and they will share their music from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Following the scheduled performers,they will have a “circle jam session”. Suggested donations for the evening are $5/individual, $10/family. Light refreshments are available at no additional charge.

NMC's Children's Choir in Concert


NMC's Children's Choir will hold a concert celebrating "Songs from Around the World" at 3 p.m. Feb. 12th in Lars Hockstad Auditorium, TC. The concert will feature a variety of choral works and folks songs from Denmark, Wales, France, Israel, India, England, Canada and Norway - with the addition of American Patriotic songs. All four choirs will perform. Tickets are available at the door. General Admission is $10. Seniors age 62 and older and children 12 and younger $5.

Winter Festival of Foods at NMC


The Winter Festival of Foods will be on Saturday, Feb. 18th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Northwestern Michigan College. Explore cooking techniques with demonstrations by area chefs, get fresh ideas and tips, and taste samples as you savor the local culinary scene. Area chefs and local specialty food artisans will strut their stuff at the Oleson Center kitchen and classrooms on the main campus of NMC. President's Weekend Chili Cook Off at Christ United Methodist Church


February 19th, Christ United Methodist Church will host a President's Weekend Chili Cook Off, Art Sale, and Cookie Walk from 12-3pm. Admission covers it all-$5 adults, $3 children, under 5 are free. Family Partnership Grand Traverse Annual Dinner

5th Annual Outdoor Sportsmen's Banquet


The 5th annual Outdoor Sportsmen’s Banquet will be held, Saturday, March 3rd at the Blue Pelican Event Room, 2012 E. Pancake Breakfast at the Kalkaska Civic Center
